Hi Guys,

I have been trying to follow the whole Rapid-share issues, and i think many are in the sam boat with year long memberships. i have seen that RS links are becoming less and less. Thanks to those who do help us guys and girls out.
I just want to know what the future bolt has planned with links and what should people be looking to invest in as there next purchase? i love this site however there seems to be more and more issues and i know its a hard time with the whole download upload police shit hot.

Rapidshare is still likely to be posted, the problem is that each premium user only has 30GB of sharing traffic per file. This means that popular files are likely be be blocked after less than 30 minutes and people will have to wait until the 24 hour period is up. This is why new file hosts have been added as it should keep files alive longer so that more people will have access to them. If you are going to download only I suggest a multi-host because the majority of the allowed hosts are supported by a multi-host. This will allow you multiple chances of getting a file instead of the one if you buy a solo premium account.

Bolt seems to be doing all they can to help those that want to continue to post and those that want to continue to download by implementing new ideas. Some people seem to have issues with them but if they keep links alive longer and allow a better chance of getting a file then I can understand why its happening.

This is my order of use, I keep premium accounts going in all of them:

1. U.p.l.o.a.d.e.d.to
2. R.a.p.i.d.g.a.t.o.r
3. D.e.p.o.s.i.t.f.i.l.e.s
4. E.x.t.a.b.i.t

An uploader with a premium account can only have 30GB worth of downloads from it a day.

An uploader with a free account can only have 1GB worth of downloads from it a day.


Downloaders with or without accounts will still have unlimited downloading as long as the file(s) they're after isn't/aren't from an account that has reached it's limit.

I wonder, which will be the number one and most used file hoster from now on, that is worth to become a premium member at that host. Rap*idga*tor seems to be widely used recently on bolt, maybe that's the next major hoster.

Non authorized file hosts are redacted automatically by Vbulletin so the funny writing is a method of circumventing that but I guess after being here for two years you didn't notice that

Has anyone checked if this is possible? An application for a premium user to randomly generate different file names for the same file, therefore having multiple copies (say 10+) on rapidshare of the same file all going at once. Or does rapdishare do some type of internal scan of the file to determine they are identical regardless of file name?

There is nothing to be checked. The limitation of sharing traffic is not per file, but per account (30GB for premium users and 1GB for free users).

Thanks for clearing it up. I thought it was a traffic amount per file but it seems you are right and that its per user. So RS is pretty much dead now because a popular uploader will see all their links die for the day within 10 minutes or so of posting a popular file.

I swear I made a post in this thread and I don't recall hitting the delete button. Ahh well...I must be getting old.

Anyway, just went with Netload for a monthly subscription. Not as fast as Rapidshare, but I was able to do some parallel downloads without limitations. Also glad to see they have a bonus program as I have a couple of friends to refer.

My min download speed is around 4,7 Mb/s, max 9,1 Mb/s so far on the few files I tested. The download speed fluctuates a lot though. I hope with the influx of RS refugees, we will see some improvements to cater for the newcomers.

I'll stick it out for a month, maybe switch over to another hoster after this month and decide later.

You can still dl but do it at midnight for the files that you get the "files exhausted" message.

You should request a refund from RS. I'm waiting for a final confirmation on my refund tomorrow.
