How many years do you think Rivers can play in L.A.? The old LA Rams seemed to eat and spit out QBs ...

Rivers has another four or five years in him, I think.. he doesn't have any major injuries.. hasn't lost any arm strength and has a great knowledge of the game.
a little decent coaching would probably help.

I really do not want the Denver Broncos to go after Tony Romo. I'm sorry but the guy needs to retire. He is one more hit from behind away from ending up in a wheelchair. I would not wish taht on any player no matter what team they are on.

I doubt very much that Elway will pay so much for a backup without much of a back.. I still see Cleveland in the Romostakes lead.
Then again, I've been telling Jerry to sit Romo down for three years now and it's telling that the ONLY reason he's willing to let go now is his new rookie wunderkind...
I remember when Kaepernick had a similar rookie year.... and it wasn't very long ago.. and look at him now.

So much for going to Cleveland now. While I am not sure Osweiler will be in Cleveland come the start of the season I think dumping him opens the Texans up to getting Romo now.

well - NOW I have no idea at all....in fact, if I were Jerry, I'd redo his contract and keep him... I don't see anyone else who would start him and count on him for a whole season.

can anyone give me a reason why everyone seems so convinced that Romo will make a good colour-man for CBS? He sure seems to be fast-tracked to this vaunted gig and I don't really understand why. I don't recall him ever being particularly impressive in interviews or particularly knowledgable about the game aside form the QB position... and he's never shown much in the way of "Mr. Personality".. although I grant that Simms isn't exactly dynamic hissownself.

I don't know if the network does anything like this, but they've got some time to get Romo ready for the job. And as a NFL quarterback, you can bet he knows quite a bit about the job. Probably knows more than Simms, although I don't have the dislike for Simms that many have.

I'm of the old school belief that you can't teach "colour commentary" (otherwise Simms would be getting better, yes?).. it's a personality thing... and, frankly, Romo honestly doesn't seem to have much of one.
But Collinsworth, who I frankly never thought would make it either has really blossomed. Maybe Romo will do so.. I just don't understand the "free pass' that he seems to be getting at the moment from the media.. but, in fairness, I've NEVER thought he deserved the free passes he's been given throughout his entire career.. so what do I know, eh?

simms seems concussed but i love the fact simms got replaced by a dallas cowboy. romo has a steep learning curve but he will get better and is a drawcard for cbs

I've always found Romo likeable. Not bursting with personality, but at least likeable. Hopefully that will translate to the commentary booth.
