Up until recently rapidgator worked well for me. I have a premium account.

A few months ago it stopped working efficiently and I can never get a file to download in one go. If iti s 900gb or larger forget it. even with the facility of restarting a dropped (failed) file I often have to re-start over 10 times when it won't let me restart again and I have to restart the whole thing again.

I wrote to them and they gave me a few options but nothing has worked. where possible I use filefactory or uploaded, unfortunately one of my fav uploaders only uses rapidgator.

Anyone got any ideas as paying for an ineffective site is upsetting.

    Thanks
    Di

If you are using a download manager did you reduce your connections below 5?

I don't use a download manager and when I read up on it, it sounds like something you would use for P2P. I just click on the rapidgator link, I thought this link was uploaded by one person only.
Also I am in Australia and our Govt has just outlawed P2P- like Isohunt and PirateBay, so I am steering away from that sort of download (at least I thought I was ).

Download manager has nothing to do with p2p or torrents, it just gives you more control over how fast/slow, how many or when your downloads are downloaded. If you are just using the browser download function then your problem is not to many connections per download.

Yes you are steering away from that sort of download.

A download manager is a computer program dedicated to the task of downloading (and sometimes uploading) possibly unrelated stand-alone files from (and sometimes to) the Internet for storage. Some download managers can also be used to accelerate download speeds by downloading from multiple sources at once.

I contacted Rapidgator today regarding the dreadful download speeds and intermittent downloading. I have a premium account and am fed up of paying for rubbish. This is their response. I have responded to this email but some of it is not printable here. I knew this would be type of response I would get and the onus would be on me and that they of course would not have any issues their end.
If anyone else has contacted Rapidgator and got any response I would be interested to see what rubbish Rapidgator come back with them.

    Dear Customer,

Check your Antivirus and FireWall setting and try to use Free download manager:

If you have any problem with JDownloader use the JDownloader support boards, search on "unable to write to disk" or "No permission to write to file", there are many posts.

    Some of the recommended solutions:
    - use less chunks
    - allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
    - unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
    - reboot PC
    - uninstall/re-install firewall
    - uninstall/re-install virus scanner
    - torrent client using too many connections
    - uninstall JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version

    Kind regards, Alex

Java has absolutely nothing to do with downloading from Rapidgator, unless you are using a java based download manager...I don't use download managers

That's right, lets blame it all on the ISP...i can download and upload at full speed on any site except Rapidgator.

Rapigator is full of shit. The guy who who wrote those suggestions is trying to use smoke and mirrors to deflect. The truth is this...Rapidgator is stealing bandwidth from select premium customers. Rapidgator is a den of liars and thieves.
