    Hiya,

I'm looking to do some simple video editing, mainly clipping out a piece of the vid (like a commercial, say) and have the two end reknit. Without having to re-encode the vid. And without having to treat the video and audio tracks separately.

I don't want to add music tracks, have side swipe transitions, make the vid all sepia tones, have folks morph into superheros, or any of that fancy stuff.

I was using something I got from CNET, but it stopped working when Microsoft-in-the-head forced that update.

I googled for video edit reviews and they all recommend the fancy high end editors that are hard to learn and usually expensive.

Then it hit me - the Boltarians know everything! I could ask the Boltites what editor to use. So, Boltfolk, here it is.

Top feature wanted is EASY. Free software is better than pay-for software, but if there's a good program that does what I want, I'll pay for it (within reason).

Whadaya think? Any suggestions? Thanks muchly.

I've been using this for the past few years:

    GiliSoft Video Editor 6.8.0_Portable
The portable is from 04-11-2014 but there are recenter uploads.
Very easy, once you figure out how it works as there are no instructions.

Let me rephrase that...when I got the program in 2014, there's no 'help' button on the program and I couldn't find any.

I went ahead and installed the latest offering.
