I've said all along that we won't go down, and I don't believe we will.

However, I was never going to accept relegation as a possibility.

Even if it came down to the final day, and so now it has, but we'll escape.

...and if we don't...we'll be back. One season below, and we'll be back.

Not if Warburton buys have of them useless Rangers rejects then you won't be back anytime soon.

Seriously Doc I hope you's do stay up. I actually thought that Warburton was a half decent boss, quite likable & I'd like to see him succeed.

Yeah, I like him, and I also believe that if we go down - it's nothing at all to do with him.

He was only just brought in, with a few matches left in the season, and already a lot
of Forest fans over a the Nottingham Post's site have been bitchin, and complaining
about the guy, because of the situation we're in. Well, I know they're just fed up - so
am I, but Warburton is the last man I would blame.

It's entirely on the shoulders of the IDIOT Owner, for waiting so long to bring him in,
and waiting until the January transfer window to buy a couple (and only a couple)
when we needed many good new players.

If we go down, it's also on the players themselves.

We need to get rid of quite a few, who do nothing more than to collect their checks.

The Owner is the biggest reason though - no question about it.

    Meanwhile judgment day approaches...

Just found out a guy at my new place of work is a Forest fan. He will be there for the final game of the season as he has managed to get himself the day off from the restaurant. Funnily enough this will only be his 3rd game at home, although he has managed to go to a dozen or so away games. So I hope they do stay up as he is going to be a real pain as a duty manager if they don't come Sunday.

Rangers & Forest could trade players between each other. Just a thought.

Well, Judgment Day is here at last. The week's wait was a long one.

It's 2:24 am here (EST) in the United States, as I write this.

    In England it's 7:24 am.

In 5 hours my beloved Reds will take on Ipswich at the sold out City Ground
in what is one of the biggest matches in the history of the club.

How I wish I could be there. Though I am in spirit.

May good fortune be ours this day.

89th min equaliser at Villa Park gifts the title to Newcastle. Let's not forget the important relegation battle with all three of the sides winning but Blackburn are relegated in the end.

    Thank You to everyone...

First I want to congratulate the Promoted Clubs - Newcastle, and Brighton & Hove Albion,
on their entrance back to the top flight of Football, in what is easily the best league in the
world. For Brighton it's been a long wait, and Cloughie would no doubt be pleased for you.

To the Relegated Clubs...my commiserations. I know how it feels. It hurts, and it's a shame
that it has to be someone's club that goes through this. I know the hurt, and the disappointment.

Blackburn Rovers fought to the end, and almost had us...but for the goal difference. They're
a great club, who like Forest have suffered under bad ownership, who promised, but only lied.
I wish Blackburn the best of luck, as I do Wigan Athletic, who not so long ago, we're in the
top flight themselves, and now they find themselves relegated to third division football.
What a tough thing that must be for their fans. Rotherham United as well. Best of luck.

    Now to my Reds...

I only just logged-on the net, and went straight to the BBC Nottingham site to see our fate.

Then I caught myself actually starting to cry...

It wasn't the result - I banged my foot on the side of the bloody PC desk.

The relief...if, if we'd gone down...it could've been the darkest time in the history of the club,
with potential sales of young stars by the idiot owner Al Hasawi...

Then just 1 hour ago, The BBC Nottingham site also reported this very day - the sale of the
club to Greek (Gangster) Evangelos Marinakis is "99% Complete".

My mood at this moment is one of optimism. We've lived through 5 very difficult years, but we
have a new Manager, we have young talent, and we have a new Owner waiting in the wings...

5 years ago, at the dawn of the Al Hasawi era, I asked the Question, and now I ask it once again...
Nottingham Forest - A New Age?

See you next season Doc. Glad you were able to survive and the team finally got things right on the pitch when needed. It should never have come down to this to be fair but with all the turmoil it was bound to have some effect on the players. Glad though its worked out. My boss was there and after hearing the Blackburn score after 16 minutes said many fans feared the worst. In the end the season ended on a high to a degree and its time to look forward and not back. Hopefully the new owners will not want to see the side in this positon again and will do what they can to make sure it never happenes again. I once again have to mention Leicester and their owners as a blueprint of what a little wise spending and patience can do. Hopefully the new owners of Forest will look at that and try to model themselves, at least to a degree, on them. Maybe then next season it will not be a relegation fight but a promotion one.

Went to the game earlier and it was absolutely crazy. When Blackburn went 2-0 up at Brentford, and Birmingham took the lead at Bristol, you could feel the mood starting to sink a bit but the players reclaimed control of the game and swept to safety in style. I've been to many games over the years, having had season tickets and what not, but never one as tense as that, with an atmosphere that electric. When the second goal went in I think the stadium was going to come down around us.

There was a nice moment with about 10/15 minutes to go where Lichaj came over to our section and asked for the scores in the other games. You could feel everyone pulling together and in the end I ended up being swept along in the pitch invasion..mostly due to my girlfriend.

Relieved the season is over but football is made for games like today. It's been a miserable few years but hopefully the dawn is starting to break on the club. I won't believe Fawaz is going until he actually has packed up his belongings and given back the keys, but hopefully that's imminent.

What an incredible day Click here to enlarge

Nottingham Forest have been bought by Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis after his takeover was passed by the English Football League (EFL). The businessman and Olympiakos owner is facing accusations of match-fixing in Greece but has passed the EFL's owners' and directors' test.

Its going to be interesting as he seems to be saying all the right things. However so did the previous owners when they took over and relatively little changed during their spell in charge. So good luck to Forest and lets hope that for the fans this owner will prove to be better for the club.

Forest has now gotten rid of Fawaz. The fans will rejoice with that but whether it's a good replacement or not... well... yeah.

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss? Let's hope not.

We haven't had an Owner since the late Nigel Doughty that truly cared, but then he wasn't
the best of owners, as he meant well, but meaning well, and a job well done aren't the same
    thing.

We've suffered, and I hope the suffering is close to an end now, and not yet another false promise.

Time will tell. It always does. Though in my heart I choose to believe we will get to the Premier
promised land soon. My heart told me we were going survive relegation, and we did.

I suspect that the league have to follow the rule of innocent until proven guilty. That is probably why he was able to pass the directors test even when he is being accused of match fixing etc. I really hope that down the line he is not actually found guilty as who knows what would happen to the club in that situation.

Lets hope that he is a breath of fresh air and not the same as some previous owners. Lets hope for the club and its fans that he has only the best interests of the club at heart and is not just there to make money. He claims he is not buying the club just to make profits so lets see if he is true to his word. As I have said many times if Forest can look at the Thai owners of Leicester and use them as a blueprint then they could well be up the other end of the table. Leicester didn't spend crazily, they had a plan in place and it worked. Bournemouth, Swansea, Burnley and more recently Brighton all had a plan and ended up in the promised land. So there is no reason why Forest and others like them cannot do it also. Short term plans for long term goals is what it is all about. Do it properly and teams will often get at least one season in the PL and often more.
