Personally I'd like it to be at least 50% of what we have now. But how we get it at that level I don't know. I'd just prefer it be now and voluntary rather than in the near future and imposed on us by nature or the environment.

I certainly wouldn't like to see a Blade Runner or Elysium style future.
Expert's reckon the most sustainable number of humans on earth should be no greater than 1.5 billion ... it is a figure i don't disagree with

An interesting figure. We are 4 times over that, so it is no wonder we are using up the Earth's resources faster than it can sustain.

The B Ark is going to have to be pretty big if we are going to save the planet.

...and that number was reached about 1900... ( ...at the year 0 [which doesn't really exist because after 1BC came directly 1AD] there were about 300 Mio people on earth)

So it took 1900 years to quintuple that number but after that only 100 years to quadruple it again - anybody seeing the (near!) future problem? Click here to enlarge

An interesting but insignificant consequence of that (exponential growth) is that now more people are alive on earth than ever died since Jesus...
Bluntly put: if all dead since Jesus up to right now rose from their graves then there still were more people alive than zombies around...
